What is Yatam?

Yatam is a place for people to inform their friends and family about their location. People using Yatam can tell other people (friends, family and the rest of the world) where they are, where they are going to, and when they are going to be there.

What can I do with Yatam?

Once you gain the ability to broadcast your location to the world, a whole new realm of possibilities emerges. Here are just a few examples we came up with:

Sixth Sense
Finally, for the first time in human history, Yatam provides you the ability to predict who will be in a certain place and when they will be there. Now, let's say you want to go out tonight. You got tired of your regular local pub and you would like to try a new place someone recommended to you. With Yatam you would be able to check out who is going to be in this new place, without even leaving the comfort of your chair. You would be able to use Yatam's power to see who is about to go there, and based on that information, making your final decision: to go or not go!

Group Activities
One of Yatam's main purposes is to ease group activities. Yatam is the perfect platform to organize any group-related activity, such as where does the group want to go; who brings what; and when would the group like to meet. A good example, and one of the initial triggers of creating Yatam, was to remove the headache brought upon one of our buddies whenever we planned to go and play basketball. He was the one in charge of making all the phone calls, coordinating among dozens of people about the place and preferred time (to the satisfaction of all the rest). Who is going to bring the ball, who will bring the water, and who needs a lift? With Yatam, most of this inconvenience would disappear! All our buddy would have to do is login to his account, and update his profile regarding the location and time of the game-that’s it! Anyone who would like to get the game details would only have to check out his profile!

Backpackers
Another great use of Yatam would be for backpackers. Millions of people travel each year, all over the globe. Yatam would be the perfect solution for keeping in touch with their family and friends in a whole new way. For example, while your child would be out on his backpacking experience, you, as a parent, would be able to see where he is now and where he is heading. You could be involved with your child's trip in a way that was never possible before. You would know your child's exact location in every part of the journey. From the backpacker's point of view, Yatam is a great way to send a "sign of life" from time to time to calm down ones parents back home, and to share thoughts, impressions, and feelings regarding the places traveled. All this, plus being able to share day-to-day experiences with buddies back home.
